Thoughts on systemd
Context
In short: age verification laws passed in some US states and Brazil, systemd merged the PR implementing birthDate field in user record, revert PR got closed without any discussion, only the comment from Lennart Poettering, the creator of systemd.

Whats going on
A lot of people got angry because of this and switched off systemd.
Well, I get the point. Even though the field is optional (for now), it has no point and might turn into a required one really soon.
What's more interesting is the root exploit found in systemd on days.
Devuan developers call systemd "Unicorn Shit" with this pic
Besides that, during last few years systemd only becomes less and less stable and safe.
What I've done?
I, as an average normie, decided to try other init systems.
Installed Void Linux and damn, runit is really good. Simple, fast and pretty stable.
When I have time, will switch from Arch Linux to Devuan with runit on my home PC. Yeah, there's Artix Linux, the Arch without systemd, but I got really tired of random system breaks after updating and want something stable like Debian.
Honestly, don't like how and where it's going.
Soon we might see a Linux powered computer asking for your ID. Really hope it doesn't get at that point
That's it for now
I recommend trying other init systems and seeing how simple and good it can be. Heard for some people systemd feels like a magic black box, that's kinda weird, but I get it.
Runit generally feels simplier because of how it works: pretty simple sv (supervisor) command, autostart is done with just symlinks. That's more unix way than systemd and it's definitely good.
